Will Rapid Formations File My Accounts?
Rapid Formations can assist with certain types of company accounts, depending on your situation. Here’s how it works and what support is available.
If Your Company Is Dormant
If your company has not traded during the financial year, you may be eligible to file dormant accounts.
1Rapid Formations offers a Dormant Accounts Service to help you meet your filing obligations with Companies House.
- If you already have this service, you don’t need to take any immediate action.
When your filing period opens, you’ll receive an email notification containing a short questionnaire. - Once you complete and submit the questionnaire, the team will prepare and file your dormant accounts on your behalf.
If you don’t yet have the service, you can purchase it online at any time, provided your company qualifies as dormant.
If Your Company Has Been Trading
If your company has carried out any business activity (e.g. sales, expenses, or transactions), it is considered active rather than dormant.
In this case:
- You will need to prepare and file full statutory accounts.
- Rapid Formations does not provide full accounting services for trading companies.
You should therefore appoint or consult a qualified accountant who can:
- Prepare your annual accounts
- Advise on tax obligations
- Ensure compliance with Companies House and HMRC requirements
Summary
- Dormant company? Rapid Formations can file your accounts if you have (or purchase) the Dormant Accounts Service.
- Trading company? You’ll need an accountant to handle your accounts and filings.
If you’re unsure whether your company is dormant or trading, it’s best to seek clarification from an accountant before proceeding, as filing the wrong type of accounts can lead to penalties.
